Tigers Make 2010 Pre-Season All Star Team

Three Carroll baseball players will be honored on Thursday, February 4, 2010 at the Sixth Annual South Texas Winter Baseball Banquet at the Omni Hotel as members of the 2010 South Texas Pre-Season High School All Star Team.  The Tiger contingent is led by senior outfielder Mark Blackmar who becomes the first player in the six-year history of the honor squad to make the team a third time. Pitcher, Courtney Hawkins, is one of only two sophomores to make the team.  Adam Hinajosa, senior second base, rounds out the Carroll contingent.  Congratulations to Lee Yeager, Carroll baseball coach, and the Carroll baseball program!

Carroll Senior Wins DAR Competition
Ian Tuttle, our Carroll High School DAR Good Citizen, has won 1st place in the State of Texas for his outstanding essay. Ian will be recognized in Houston as the state winner at their convention and luncheon in March where he will receive his scholarship award. He is now entered in the South Central Region as the Texas winner. The winner from South Central will advance to Nationals that will be held in Washington, D.C.  Congratulations and best wishes to Ian as he continues to represent Carroll High School!  As CCISD administrator Michael Torres said, "World Class Schools start with world class students.  Way to go, Ian."
